About Us

Why we built Vectis

Our founder, Josh, spent years working with order management systems that actually worked. Solid architecture. Real multi-warehouse logic. The kind of software that handled complexity without falling over. But they looked like they were designed during the Bush administration, and if you made changes without extreme care, the whole thing would break.

He's also worked with the modern alternatives: complex enterprise systems that require an entire integration team and at least one specialist on staff just to keep them running. Six-month implementations. Six-figure consulting engagements. Software that's powerful, sure, but only if you have the headcount to manage it.

Great architecture or usable interface. Pick one. That was the choice.

Josh refused to pick. So he built Vectis: an OMS with the technical foundation that actually handles complexity, wrapped in an interface your team won't need a training manual to use.

What we make

Stoa Logistics makes two products: Vectis OMS for order management and StoaPack for 3D bin packing optimization.

Vectis takes the technical architecture that actually works (proper multi-tenancy, package-first data models, atomic inventory operations) and wraps it in an interface your warehouse team won't hate. StoaPack is a standalone API for 3D bin packing that works with any system.

We're filling the gap between "Shopify admin" and "enterprise platform that costs $50k and takes 6 months to implement."

Why "Stoa"?

The Stoa Poikile was a covered walkway in ancient Athens where Stoic philosophers met. Josh discovered Stoicism during the pandemic, when he needed something solid to stand on. It became the foundation for how he runs his life, and now, how we run this company.

The Stoic approach: focus on what you can control, stay calm under pressure, do the work without drama.

That's how we build software. No hype, no "AI-powered blockchain synergy." Just solid engineering that solves real problems. When a customer has an issue, we fix it. When something's unclear, we clarify it. We don't promise what we can't deliver.

Why "Vectis"?

Vectis is Latin for "lever": a simple tool that multiplies force. That's the goal: help small teams handle big volume without the complexity tax of enterprise software.

How we work

We ship working software. Not decks, not roadmaps, not "coming soon" pages. StoaPack is live at stoapack.stoalogistics.com. Vectis is available now.

We're honest about fit. If Vectis isn't right for your operation, we'll tell you. We'd rather lose a sale than have an unhappy customer.

We build in public. Our roadmap is public. Our changelog is public. We don't hide behind "enterprise sales" when you want to know what something costs.
